It was so exciting and humbling to see the first KCK Technical Training Institute students.
Five years ago the Lord gives us a vision of establishing a Technical Institute to impact and teach skills to the children under our care and the youth in the community. By Faith we trusted God and embarked on long winding journey. From the humble beginning of making the first earth bricks to construct the workshop. The earth bricks were made by use of a machine called hydro form brick-making machine which was borrowed from the government from the ministry of housing in Kenya.
Having started with no budget the Lord in His own way caused people from Kenya and from the United States to embrace the vision which is slowly coming to realization. Those from Kenya provided and assisted with labor for the construction, provision of locally available resource, materials & finance. Our friends and partners from the states helped in providing tools and supplies for the workshops, furniture for the classroom and office. These tools supplies and furniture are already in use by the students and teachers.
A five years’ journey of establishing a Technical Institute against all odds, setbacks, challenges, misunderstanding, doubts and uncertainties is slowly coming to realization.
During the last years’ Christmas school break the institute trained and graduated 38 youth. These youth were trained on computer operation course for a month. The KCK sponsored children and the youth in the community were equipped with computer operation skill which left them so happy and excited.
We are so grateful to God for this January 2018 we have admitted the first regular students for Certificate and Diploma courses. The institute will be offering courses in Food And Beverage Production, Building & Construction, Carpentry And Joinery, Plumbing, Electrical Installation,Beauty Therapy among others. The institute will also be open to start other courses that are relevant to the job market.

Thanks to our partners and friend from the states under the chairmanship of Steve Hamilton and Dickson Lester together with KCK board of directors under the leadership of Louise Mell, Cindy Turner for helping in organizing Ken Ya’ Run. The proceeds from the marathon Run has helped in completion of the workshops, landscaping, power installation. The last years, 2017, Ken Ya’ Run proceeds will be used in the construction of the septic tank facility and bathroom for the students. As I write this bulletin the classes and workshop are already in progress. Praise God!
I cannot forget how the Lord used Reba Harrison, Robert Long and the entire KCK Board and partners in raising supplies for the institute in the last two years. The US team was able to raise two 40 feet containers full of supplies for the technical institute, hospital and gifts for hundreds of kids in Kenya. Our thanks goes also to the churches, individuals and companies who donated tons of supplies to Kenya to be used in the technical school and meet other needs for the ministry.
Let us all continue to pray and trust for more miracles. As you pray please remember these needs before the Lord.
We need sponsorship in salary for the teachers before the institute is self-sustaining. Let’s pray that the Lord will raise people to sponsor a teacher for 1 month, several months or years.
Tool and equipment’s
We need sponsors of tools and equipment in the following courses masonry, food & beverage production, beauty therapy & plumbing. You can sponsor one or several tools. Those classes are ongoing and lacking some essential tools for training.
You can make a one-time donation and specify how you would want your financial gift used.
We need engineers and technicians to visit us to help in imparting skills to the youth. This can be in the
form of a mission trip for a few days, vocational training of trainers (TOT’s). Those interested in vocational training of TOT’s and students for a five day mission trip can see Steve Hamilton
We need people committed to praying for KCK technical Institute and entire KCK Ministry so that while we are on our feet in action over here in Kenya they are on their knees in prayers to God. Sometimes it has been so stressing, emotionally draining, working with no budget but despite all that for the five years, the Lord has supplied to the construction of an administration building, two classes, a home for the boys and three huge workshops. May the Almighty God be glorified forever!!
