For the last one month, Africa has been under a serious threat and scare of Ebola disease. Ebola is a virus that attacks a Person’s blood system .The disease makes a person bleed from almost anywhere on their body. The victim bleeds to death. The disease is highly contagious and is transmitted through contact with body fluids such as sweat, saliva, semen and other body discharges.
It is said that about 90% of the people that catch Ebola will die from it. It is classified as one of the most dangerous diseases in the world and it kills in a matter of weeks.
Ebola has no known cure or treatment. The symptoms include: headache, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, joint muscle pain, lack of appetite and stomachache
Where was Ebola reported in Africa?
The disease was reported in Western African countries like Cameroon, Nigeria, some cases were reported in Uganda.
The government of Kenya slapped a travel ban for airplanes to and from West African countries. There has been a very thorough screening of people at the airport and at all Kenyan boarder entry points.
The good news is that no single case has been reported in Kenya. We really thank God for that and our prayer has been with the affected countries in some parts of Africa where the disease has claimed lives of over 1000 people.
A lot has been in the Kenyan media especially on the TV and the newspaper on the Ebola. Lately it has died down and hope that it’s a sign that the disease is dying out.
I have received a couple of emails and phone calls from the states from our friends wanting to know the status of the disease in the country. Let me report to you that we are safe and the hundreds of children you sponsor are healthy. Their mamas and all the friends you have are all well and are not in danger of the deadly disease. Thank you so much for all who have been praying for us and our entire country and our continent Africa.
Your prayer has been answered and we appreciate your concern.
